Finance Business Partner
About the job Finance Business Partner
The Finance Business Partner serves as a strategic co-pilot to the leadership team. The primary purpose is to translate complex financial data into actionable business insights that drive profitability, efficiency, and long-term value creation. You will sit at the intersection of Finance and Operations, acting as a "critical friend" to department heads to ensure financial objectives are integrated into every commercial decision.
Job Description
- Commercial Advisory: Partner with business unit heads (Sales, Marketing, Ops) to evaluate commercial proposals, pricing strategies, and ROI on marketing spend.
- Performance Management: Lead the monthly Business Review process, moving beyond "reporting numbers" to explaining the "why" behind variances and identifying corrective actions.
- Advanced Forecasting & Modeling: Develop dynamic rolling forecasts and scenario models ($what-if$ analysis) to help the business navigate market volatility and capitalize on opportunities.
- Operational Efficiency: Identify cost-saving opportunities and process improvements within the business units to optimize the bottom line without sacrificing growth.
- Decision Support: Build business cases for capital expenditure (CAPEX) and strategic projects, providing objective financial challenge to assumptions.
- Data Storytelling: Simplify financial jargon into clear, visual presentations for non-finance stakeholders to ensure alignment on strategic goals.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. An MBA or professional certification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, or CFA) is highly preferred as it demonstrates a strategic mindset.
- 5+ years of experience in Finance, with at least 2–3 years in a dedicated FP&A or Business Partnering role (ideally in a fast-paced industry like FMCG, Tech, or Retail).
- Mastery of Excel/Google Sheets for complex financial modeling (building models from scratch, not just updating them).
- Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Data Visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker).
- A deep understanding of business drivers—you should be able to explain how a 1% change in price affects the total EBITDA.
- Ability to challenge C-suite executives and department heads constructively.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and able to pivot strategies in a rapidly changing market.
- Exceptional "translation" skills—the ability to explain the Income Statement to a Creative Director or a Sales Manager.
