Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified Wheels & Brakes Workshop Technician to join our clients aviation maintenance team in the UAE. The ideal candidate will bring extensive military aviation experience, hands-on technical skills, and the ability to operate in a dynamic, multicultural environment. This position will play a critical role in maintaining and supporting all assigned aircraft brakes & wheels systems, subsystems and components.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove, repair, replace, adjust, service and pressure test aircraft brakes & Wheel systems, subsystems, assemblies, and components according to technical manuals, directives, and safety procedures.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot malfunctions to aircraft Wheels and Brakes systems and subsystems or components, including accumulators and actuators, according to applicable manuals and directive.
- Clean, preserve, and store aircraft Wheels and Brakes components.
- Use and perform user maintenance on common and special tools.
- Disassemble and inspect systems, subsystems, and components for wear, warping, or other defects.
- Test installed parts and accessories for leakage and functionality using test equipment.
- Read and interpret manufacturers' maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components.
- Maintain facilities for storage of flammable and hazardous materials.
- Requisition aircraft Wheels and Brakes parts and maintains shop and bench stock for repair of aircraft Wheels and Brakes systems and subsystems.
- Inspect and prepare forms and records related to maintenance in accordance with Repair Manuals and applicable regulations.
- Train host national personnel on the proper maintenance of aircraft brakes & Wheel systems and subsystems.
- Responsible for tools and equipment inventory assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- 5 years working experience with aircraft Wheels and Brakes components.
- Completion of a Wheels and Brakes training or aircraft maintenance course.
Preferred Qualifications:
- FAA A&P (Airframe & Powerplant) License and/or Federal Communications Commission (FCC) license or industry equivalent.
- Knowledgeable on The Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS).
- Thorough knowledge in the use of common tools, special tools, hardware and equipment used in the maintenance of aircraft brakes & Wheel systems and subsystems.
- Able to troubleshoot aircraft Wheels and Brakes systems and interpret applicable technical data.
