The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced and dedicated Junior/Senior Radiation Surveyor to play a critical role in protecting human health and environmental safety. This position is ideal for a meticulous professional who thrives on ensuring strict compliance and mitigating hazards in dynamic settings. You will be based at a high-profile client site in Ontario, Canada (various remote locations are available), contributing directly to vital safety operations.
- Perform precise radiation and contamination surveys across various environments, including nuclear facilities and industrial sites, adhering to stringent Environmental, Safety & Health (ES&H) protocols.
- Proactively identify, assess, and control radiological and chemical hazards to prevent incidents.
- Develop, implement, and enforce comprehensive site-specific health and safety plans and procedures.
- Conduct thorough inspections of work areas for potential radiological and construction-related health hazards.
- Lead pre-job briefings with personnel to communicate potential risks and safety measures.
- Execute air sampling initiatives and perform detailed analysis of the collected data.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all surveys, data logs, and system updates.
- Ensure all hazardous areas are correctly posted and labeled in compliance with federal and site-specific regulations.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Possess a minimum of 3 years for Junior level and 5 years for Senior level of hands-on experience in a radiation protection role.
- A High School Diploma is required; a Bachelor's degree in Health Physics, Nuclear Engineering, Physics, or a related STEM field is a strong asset.
- Hold a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation.
- Must successfully pass a Radiation Safety certification exam.
- You are a detail-oriented problem-solver with an unwavering commitment to safety protocols.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country applied, no sponsorship is available
What We Offer:
- Competitive Compensation: $48.00 per hour (Junior) or $56.00 per hour (Senior).
- Per Diem: Up to $150 per day.
- Bonus Structure: Contract completion and retention bonuses.
- Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 10-hour days (40-hour work week).
- Location: Onsite at a federal government or industrial client facility in Ontario, Canada
