Your Role
As an AU Building Structures Engineer, you are responsible for:
- Maintained and organized project files, document registers, and shared drives in accordance with company filing systems and document control protocols.
- Prepared meeting agendas, recorded minutes, tracked action items, and coordinated meetings, site visits, project
- milestones, and team calendars.
- Supported project tracking, fee schedule administration, invoice preparation, and data management using Zoho One.
- Assisted in reviewing requests for quotations and preparing fee proposals.
- Managed internal forms, checklists, onboarding documents, workflow documentation, and standard operating procedures.
- Handled correspondence management, including filing and tracking incoming and outgoing emails and letters.
- Compiled and formatted site inspection notes, defect photography logs, and field data into structured project records.
- Organized site photographs, supporting documentation, inspection schedules, and pre-inspection documents.
- Drafted, formatted, and quality-checked building condition assessments, dilapidation reports, maintenance reports, and building audit documentation.
- Incorporated engineer mark-ups, tracked changes, and reviewer feedback into revised reports and project documents.
- Prepared and developed 2D engineering drawings, technical sketches, and construction details using AutoCAD.
- Assisted senior engineers with structural design calculations and technical documentation preparation.
- Maintained drawing registers, revision histories, and issue records for accurate document control.
- Compiled design documentation packages for client submissions and regulatory requirements.
- Prepared scope of works documents, technical specifications, defect schedules, and work method statements for remedial and structural projects.
- Assisted in compiling tender packages, tender comparison matrices, pricing summaries, and tender assessment reports.
- Coordinated distribution of tender documents, tracked contractor responses and queries, and maintained tender clarification logs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- 2+ years of post-graduate experience in a civil, structural, or construction-related engineering role
- AutoCAD 2D drafting skills — mid-level proficiency (required)
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Experience working with Australian engineering standards, projects, or clients is advantageous.
NICE TO HAVE:
- Sound understanding of structural analysis and engineering design principles — steel, timber, concrete, and geotechnical fundamentals
- Understanding of building material science and common building defects
- Ability to interpret engineering sketches, mark-ups, design briefs, and technical instructions
