About the job Collections Specialist

Recommends, implements, and directs the agencys billing and collections policies and procedures.

Consults and communicates with all members of the agencys billing/collecting department on a

regular basis to coordinate and address appropriate quality program related issues.

Verifies billing accounts with accounts receivable ledger to ensure that all payments are accounted for

and properly posted.

Performs collections activities related to follow up and account resolutions.

Possesses a cooperative and positive attitude toward patients, management, and co-workers by

responding politely and professionally and being a valued team player

Ensures that the activities of the collection operations are conducted in a manner that is consistent with

overall department protocol, and are following Federal, State, and payer regulation, and guidelines.

Identifies and processes bad debt write-offs and A/R adjustments to maintain financial transparency.

Maintains high standard of compliance in ethical and federal regulation at all times.

Performs additional functions as directed by the administrator to meet evolving agency needs.
