Position Description

Billing Officer

Division: Waste Services Group – Managed Services division

Reports to: National Billing Manager

Position Objective

The Billing Officer is a role within the Managed Services division of Waste Services Group (WSG).

This role key focus is to accurately and effectively process and record invoices and reporting.

The role will provide support to customers (internal and external) with queries relating to credit claims.

This role will work closely with Billing Manager and Team, to understand underlying issues with billing

disputes and communicate these to the relevant departments for resolution.

Key Responsibilities

Production of customer and supplier billing reports on a weekly and monthly basis

Reviewing, processing, and charging contractor invoices

Managing daily emails in shared team mailbox

Establish and maintain positive working relationships with team members across the

business.

Assist, coordinate and cooperate with the business to ensure the quality and timing of

invoicing.

Ensure accuracy of billing to minimise reworking of bills.

End-Of-Month requirements set out by the Billing Team Leader

Assist with pricing discrepancies on contractor invoices.

Assist with Reviewing, Investigating & processing credits for customers.

Assist, coordinate and cooperate with business to ensure the quality and timing of invoicing.

Experience & Skills

Background & Experience

No formal qualifications necessary – we will provide training to the successful applicant!

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience liaising with a multitude of stakeholders.

Well-organised with excellent attention to detail and time management skills

Basic financial knowledge

Experience using Wastedge desired but not essential.

Skills & Competencies

Strong attention to detail – ability to notice small detail and identify errors.

Advance skills within Microsoft Office

Strong organisation skills – ability to maintain order with data and paperwork.

Research skills – ability to gather information from different sources to understand data.

Time management – ability to move through tasks in an efficient manner.

Basic financial proficiency – understand what a debit and credit is.

Can do attitude – for the right candidate there are opportunities for career progression.
