About the job Financial Accountant
PURPOSE:
You are passionate about partnering with the business and providing valuable insight to aid in decision making. You do this by playing a key role in the monthly financial close and ongoing financial operations of the business. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
General Ledger
- Preparing and posting of month end related journals.
Month End and Year End
- Preparation and completion of month end balance sheet reconciliations together with necessary supporting documentation.
- Preparation of monthly deferred revenue schedules.
- Preparation of inter-entity transfer pricing calculations and reconciliations.
- Preparation of sales commission reports.
- Processing monthly capitalisation of software development cost
- Monthly expenses Accrual
- Credit card processing
Tax and other
- Maintaining the Fixed Asset registers and tracking of CAPEX projects.
- Actively participating and supporting the audit process and statutory accounts.
- Manage lease contracts in line with IFRS 16 lease accounting standards.
- Facilitate tax compliance requirements, including FBT, GST, BAS, PAYG, IAS and payroll tax.
- Automating and improving processes and supporting and development of internal controls
- Ad hoc duties/reporting.

SUCCESS CRITERIA:
- Balance sheet reconciliations are completed within specific month-end reporting timeframes including supporting documentation.
- Fixed asset and Capex register are maintained and improved.
- Accuracy of general journals and reporting.
- Creating high-quality supporting documentation for external auditors.
- Contribution to reducing timeframe of the month end close process.
- Your output, attitude and overall enthusiasm to assist with the broader ad-hoc finance projects, is regarded by your peers and manager as exceptionally high.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
- CPA or Master degree qualified
- 3–5 years' relevant experience in financial accounting, audit, or corporate accounting
- Experience in a SaaS, technology, or high-growth environment highly regarded
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Salesforce, or HubSpot is desirable
