Responsibilities

As an Outside Plant Engineer (OPE), you will oversee projects from concept to completion.

• The Outside Plant Engineer will provide end-to-end project management support for the Genesis program. Key responsibilities include tracking all assigned tasks in OFS/P2 and Smartsheet, coordinating and assigning field walkouts, preparing construction packages and cost estimates, issuing construction-ready work to crews, scheduling and participating in Microsoft Teams client meetings, maintaining project status updates, uploading as-builts and closeout documentation, preparing completed projects for invoicing, and tracking projects through final billing. The role will also identify aging or blocked tasks, coordinate resolutions with field personnel, and provide accurate status updates to management and the client.

Qualifications

• The ideal candidate should have strong project coordination, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to manage a high volume of projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Teams, Outlook, and project tracking systems is required; experience with OFS/P2, Smartsheet, telecommunications construction, OSP engineering, estimating, as-builts, and billing processes is preferred.

• The candidate must be detail-oriented, comfortable communicating directly with clients and field personnel, capable of working independently, and able to take ownership of projects from initial assignment through construction completion and billing.

• Hours: 7 am- 5 pm EST

• Required Software: Excel, Microsoft Suite, PDF Exchange Editor, Smartsheets, Oracle

• Daily Routine: estimates, redlines - FTTH, FTTx estimate/production reconciliation project tracking and close-outs in Oracle

• Track projects, assign tasks, redlines, close out, and invoice packages. Talk with stakeholders, including internal teams, subcontractors, and customers, as needed. Comcast P2 access required

• Assist in project tracking, assigning tasks in Oracle, as-built and Invoice package creation, and assist with tracking project progress and budget.
