Position: Senior Financial Accountant

Your Role:
- Lead month-end and year-end close processes for Australian entities.
- Prepare consolidated financial statements and management reports.
- Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, and fixed asset accounting.
- Prepare BAS, payroll tax, and FBT working papers for review by the Australian CFO.
- Manage the general ledger, including accruals, prepayments, and journals.
- Support project cost reviews, WIP, and margin analysis.
- Maintain internal control processes and ensure audit readiness.
- Perform pre-start asset checks (Workshop).
- Prepare and park cost re-allocation journals requested by the business, ensuring approvals are on record.
- Prepare and post monthly expense claim upload journals / credit card journals (office and travel) with full support.
- Post weekly fleet and internal plant hire journals.
- Conduct weekly test reviews of debit entry coding to ensure accuracy of GL coding.
- Follow up daily/weekly on aged AP items – open POs with no receipts, receipts with no invoices, invoices not attached to POs.
- Prepare monthly intercompany reconciliations and resolve variances.
- Liaise daily with the Australian finance team to ensure deadlines and standards are met.
- Provide ad-hoc support for audits, reports, and process improvements.
WHAT YOU NEED:
Non-Negotiable
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards).
- Strong understanding of AASB/IFRS and Australian compliance concepts (GST/BAS).
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, variance analysis).
- Experience with NetSuite or equivalent ERP system.
- Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
