About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Estimator / Quantity Surveyor to support our Australia-based estimating team. This role is ideal for a candidate with strong experience in mechanical systems, particularly piping, and a solid background in construction estimating.

You will play a key role in preparing accurate cost estimates, performing quantity take-offs, and supporting project tendering activities.

Key Responsibilities:

•  Perform detailed and accurate take offs from drawings and specifications for mechanical (piping) projects

•  Analyse project documentation, including plans, specifications, and schedules

•  Collaborate with the Australia-based estimating team to meet tender deadlines

•   Build detailed bill of materials for project teams

•  Review subcontractor and supplier pricing

•  Identify risks, cost-saving opportunities, and value engineering options

•  Maintain and update cost databases and historical data

•  Assist in preparing tender submissions and supporting documentation

Requirements:

•  Proven experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor in mechanical construction (piping focus preferred)

•  Strong understanding of mechanical systems and piping installations

•  Proficiency in:

o  CostX (with Revit capabilities)

o  Bluebeam

o  Microsoft Excel (advanced level preferred)

•  Experience working with international teams (Australia experience highly regarded)

•  Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

•  High attention to detail and accuracy

•  Excellent communication skills (written and verbal English)

•  Ability to work independently in a remote environment

Preferred Qualifications:

•  Degree or diploma in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field

•  Experience supporting Australian construction or mechanical contracting projects

•  Familiarity with Australian standards and construction practices (advantageous)

•  PowerBi and experience with data analytics
