The Role
Working entirely in DaVinci Resolve Studio, you will cut, colour-grade, sweeten, and finish
both long-form lessons and quick-hit marketing assets. You’ll report to our senior editor in
Wanaka, sync daily for creative direction, and post concise progress updates in our project
tracker.
What You’ll Do
● Edit, grade, mix, and master lesson videos, trailers, and social snippets in DaVinci
Resolve (Cut, Fusion, Color, Fairlight, Deliver).
● Incorporate branded motion graphics—titles, lower thirds, call-outs—following Tisch
Academy guidelines.
● Refine pacing and narrative alongside our creators, flagging any missing coverage or
audio issues early.
● Prepare deliverables in multiple aspect ratios (16:9, 9:16, 1:1) and compress files to the
correct bit-rates for Kajabi, YouTube, and social platforms.
● Review renders for artefacts and audio sync before hand-off, then upload to cloud
storage with tidy folder structures and metadata.
● Participate in peer reviews and help elevate overall team quality.
What You Bring
● 4+ years professional editing experience (reel required).
● Expert-level DaVinci Resolve skills, including basic Fusion compositing and Fairlight
audio cleanup.
● Proven motion-graphics chops in Resolve or After Effects.
● Strong grasp of codecs (H.264, ProRes, BRAW), colour-managed workflows, LUTs, and
delivery best practices.
● Reliable fibre-class internet (at least 50 Mbps down / 20 Mbps up) and a calibrated
monitor for colour work.
● Self-discipline to hit deadlines while working solo, plus fluent written and spoken English
for daily stand-ups.
Contract Snapshot
● Status: Independent contractor (bring your own workstation; invoice monthly).
● Compensation: Senior-level Philippine market rate (discussed after reel review).
● Hours: 9 am – 6 pm New Zealand time, Monday through Friday (roughly 5 am – 2 pm
Philippine time, one hour earlier during NZ Daylight Time), about 40 hours per week with
slight flexibility as workloads shift.
