Job Title/Position: Graphic Designer I

Job Responsibilities

• Design advertisements from copy provided mainly using Adobe Indesign.
• Design tools will include access to a web based graphic resource.
• Workflow and copy will be accessed via a Company built Workflow System – Star Production System
• Prepare ePaper/eMag documents and upload them to our Internet site.
  
• Lay pages out, placing advertisements, editorial and photos.
• Send pages to press, ensuring quality is upheld.
  
• Layout and design any commercial work, such as books, brochures and magazines.
• Obtain approval for adverts from clients.
• Lay out editorial pages using Adobe Indesign.
• Material (stories and pictures) will be allocated to pages ready for Layout Artist to work on.
• The editorial system will be accessed via a Company built Workflow System – SCMS.
• Send pages to press, ensuring quality is upheld.
• Become fully conversant with the operation and production flow of the company so as to understand the processes of the Company.
• The Pre-Press Operator will be directly responsible to the Creative Services Manager and his Supervisors and will direct any queries to them.
• Can handle 1 department either Advert, Editorial, Classified or Flat Plan
• Any other tasks that may be assigned
