Job Responsibilities

Describe the job role and the day to day tasks involved.

Assistant Project Engineer will assist construction teams with the various administrative tasks for construction projects. This includes but is not limited to: 1. Processing and tracking Request for Information forms. 2. Obtaining and processing Submittals. 3. Managing the Material lead item logs. 4. Processing change orders. 5. Processing billings. 6. Updating plans with changed documents. 7. Assisting the project team with other tasks s required.

Qualifications

Describe the qualifications the staff must have in terms of skills and capabilities

  1. 4 year BS degree in civil engineering, architecture, construction management, or similar degree
  2. Working knowledge of construction terms.
  3. Able to read construction plans, specifications, and other technical documents related to building construction.
  4. Excellent English verbal and written skills.
  5. Computer literate and able to use Microsoft office suite of products and be able to learn other construction related software. (No programming is required)
  6. Familiar with Imperial measurement system

Competencies/Personality Traits

  1. After some training, candidate will be able to work independently.
  2. Be comfortable making phone calls and conversing in English with multiple personnel
  3. Self starter and accurate with work
  4. Dependable
  5. Truthful, be able to speak truth to supervisor.

Prior Experience

Describe the prior working experience a candidate should have.

Ideal candidate will have worked in a technical capacity in the construction industry for 2+ years and be familiar with technical aspects of construction. This can be as a project engineer, assistant project manager, project manager, estimator, etc. for construction companies

Performance Measurement

How can we measure performance for this job profile (KPIs/Metrics/Targets)

This is highly subjective as a numerical metric is difficult to establish. Essentially, they need to be able to do assigned tasks correctly, accurately in the assigned time. One metric is that they are able to work semi independently after a month of orientation.

Working Hours

Describe the work schedule the staff will follow Eg. 9am-6pm AEST.

Monday to Friday 7am – 4pm PST.

  • Depending on the teams specific needs the working hours maybe 6am – 3pm PST.
