Purpose of the Role

As a Fuel Pricing Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and implementing pricing strategies to optimize profitability and remain competitive in the fuel market.

Key Accountabilities

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor fuel prices and market trends on a daily basis to stay informed about industry dynamics, competitor pricing strategies, and geopolitical factors affecting fuel prices.
  • Analyze historical pricing data and sales trends to identify patterns, correlations, and opportunities for pricing optimization.
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies that maximize profitability while remaining competitive in the market.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure alignment of pricing strategies with business objectives and market conditions.
  • Utilize pricing optimization tools and software to conduct scenario analyses, price simulations, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of pricing changes on sales volume, revenue, and overall business performance.
  • Generate regular reports and presentations to communicate pricing insights, trends, and recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory changes, industry developments, and emerging technologies that may impact fuel pricing strategies.
  • Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking to assess the positioning of our fuel prices relative to competitors.
  • Continuously seek opportunities to improve pricing processes, methodologies, and analytical capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, economics, business administration, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in pricing analysis, revenue management, or related field, preferably within the fuel industry.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in using statistical analysis tools, Excel, and pricing optimization software.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex pricing concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in data analysis and reporting.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong business acumen and strategic thinking skills.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with fuel industry regulations, market dynamics, and supply chain management principles is a plus.
