Requirements:
- Qualification: Bachelor's in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience: 6-8 years of relevant experience in local and international procurement, preferably in manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge Areas: Procurement Fundamentals, International Trade & Import Regulations, Regulatory Compliance, Negotiation Skills, Vendor Management, Contract Management related field.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor supply markets and trends (e.g., material price fluctuations, shortages, supplier changes) and proactively assess and communicate their impact on procurement strategy and costing.
- To identify and develop alternate suppliers/vendors and materials pertaining to RM through research to ensure cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and innovation.
- Supervise and lead the procurement team, including task allocation, performance monitoring, coaching, and capability development to ensure departmental efficiency and continuity.
- Review PRs daily, obtain quotations from at least 3 vendors, and prepare comprehensive comparative statements (technical & commercial).
- Analyze supplier proposals, cost structures, and financial stability before negotiating favorable commercial and contractual terms.
- Lead and manage import procurement activities, including coordination with suppliers, freight forwarders, and clearing agents, ensuring timely shipment, documentation accuracy, and customs clearance.
- Oversee local/domestic procurement operations to meet production and operational requirements with optimum cost, quality, and lead time.
- Ensure effective coordination with engineering, production, and planning teams for procurement of raw materials, consumables, and engineering items.
- Conduct regular (quarterly or need-based) supplier visits, audits, and performance evaluations to strengthen vendor relationships and ensure compliance with quality and delivery standards.
