About the job Commercial Lender

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities through networking and relationship-building within the Twin Cities market.
  • Assess the financial needs of clients and recommend appropriate lending solutions.
  • Review and analyze title report or survey to determine issues and any present or potential risk.
  • Negotiate contracts in a way that is mutually beneficial for FIBT and the customer.
  • Ensure customer understands conditions and terms of account.
  • Review delinquent account records to determine appropriate action.
  • Demonstrate a desire to successfully serve the customers needs while creating value for the customer and FIBT.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to streamline the loan process and enhance customer satisfaction.
  • Stay informed about market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes affecting commercial lending.
  • Maintain an active list of potential new customers as well as a pipeline of new business activity.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field; 3+ years experience in commercial lending or related related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Proven business development skills with a track record of successfully originating new loans.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to assess financial statements and market conditions.
  • Familiarity with the Twin Cities market and its economic landscape.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
