Job Description:

  • Identify, evaluate, and qualify mechanical/component suppliers
  • Maintain supplier performance and resolve service issues
  • Support supplier audits and ensure compliance with regulations (e.g., RoHS, REACH)
  • Collaborate on material shortage resolution and procurement transitions
  • Handle sourcing and procurement for NPI builds (prototype to pilot phase)
  • Ensure timely delivery and inventory control during NPI
  • Engage suppliers early and consolidate quotes
  • Review and interpret customer mechanical drawings
  • Align supplier understanding with internal engineering and quality standards
  • Coordinate with global sourcing teams on strategies and supplier performance
  • Participate in supplier reviews to drive improvement
  • Support cost-down initiatives (e.g., alternate suppliers or materials)
  • Request, compare, and negotiate supplier quotations
  • Perform cost benchmarking and should-cost analysis
  • Assist in RFQ pricing for new project.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Sourcing Mechanical Engineering, preferably in the EMS
    industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical categories (e.g., metal, plastic, die-casting, stamping) and
    sourcing channels.
  • Good understanding and rich knowledge of the mechanical category and sourcing channels.
  • Proven strategic thinking and analytical skills.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with an established mechanical supplier base in Malaysia.
  • Skilled in supplier negotiation, cost breakdown analysis, and price benchmarking.
  • Able to work independently and coordinate with global and cross-functional teams.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and excellent at troubleshooting and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia, both verbal and written.
