The company looking for a Tool Design Engineer to support the design, development, and improvement of tooling solutions to meet manufacturing, quality, and cost objectives.
Job Descriptions:
- Design molds and develop accurate 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings.
- Develop complete plastic injection mold designs, including mold concepts and layouts.
- Prepare mold specifications, design checklists, and technical documentation
- Prepare detailed mold component and assembly drawings.
- Support product and tooling development, including molding process considerations.
- Ensure smooth transition from design to tooling fabrication, testing, and production trial runs.
- Identify and resolve design and technical issues in a timely manner.
- Verify tooling, programs, and design data for accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure all design activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and within project timelines.
- Conduct and participate in DFM and tool design concept discussions with customers.
- Select appropriate steel materials to ensure tooling durability and service life.
- Prepare Purchase Requisitions for mold bases, components, and steel materials.
- Supervise shop-floor personnel and maintain discipline related to tooling activities.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management.
- Degree/Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing Tool, Tool & Die, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in plastic injection mold design
- Proficient in UG (NX) and Top Solid software
- Knowledge of LSR tooling is a plus
