Job Summary:
A leading travel agency in Colombo is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Travel Agency Manager to lead and significantly grow our business, particularly within the corporate sector. The ideal candidate will bring 3-4 years of direct experience in handling corporate travel sales and possess both a strong network of established contacts and a demonstrable existing portfolio of corporate clients. This role demands a proven ability to cultivate and maintain corporate relationships, drive sales growth, and ensure the delivery of exceptional travel services.
As the Travel Agency Manager, you will oversee operations, leverage your existing clientele to generate immediate business, and strategically expand our corporate market share in Sri Lanka.
Responsibilities:
- Corporate Sales and Business Development:
- Leverage your existing portfolio of corporate clients to generate immediate and recurring business for our travel agency.
- Develop and execute targeted sales strategies focused on expanding our corporate client base, building upon your established network.
- Actively pursue new corporate accounts, capitalizing on your existing contacts and proven sales techniques.
- Prepare and present compelling proposals and presentations tailored to the specific needs of corporate clients.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activities within the corporate travel sector in Sri Lanka.
- Client Relationship Management (Corporate Focus):
- Serve as the primary point of contact and trusted advisor for your existing corporate clients, ensuring exceptional service and fostering long-term partnerships.
- Proactively manage and nurture relationships with your corporate clientele, understanding their evolving travel needs and providing customized solutions.
- Identify opportunities to expand services and increase business volume with existing corporate accounts.
- Address any issues or concerns raised by corporate clients promptly and professionally.
- Operational Management:
- Oversee the efficient day-to-day operations of the travel agency, ensuring seamless service delivery to all clients, with a particular focus on the needs of corporate travelers.
- Potentially manage and mentor a team of travel consultants, guiding them in corporate account management and sales best practices.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Oversee the accurate processing of corporate bookings, ticketing, and other travel arrangements.
- Maintain strong relationships with travel suppliers, negotiating favorable terms for corporate clients.
- Networking and Leverage of Contacts:
- Utilize your established network of professional contacts within the corporate sector and broader business community in Sri Lanka to generate leads and build partnerships for our travel agency.
- Represent our travel agency at industry events and networking functions, specifically targeting corporate travel managers and decision-makers.
- Reporting and Analysis (Corporate Focus):
- Prepare regular reports on corporate sales performance, client retention, and new business acquisition for the agency's management.
- Analyze the travel patterns and spending of your corporate clients to identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling.
- Track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to corporate accounts and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 3-4 years of direct and proven experience in handling corporate travel sales and managing corporate accounts.
- Demonstrable track record of bringing and maintaining a portfolio of corporate clients.
- Must possess a strong and active network of professional contacts within the corporate sector in Sri Lanka.
- Exceptional sales, negotiation, and presentation skills, specifically tailored for engaging corporate clients.
- In-depth understanding of corporate travel policies, booking procedures, and reporting requirements.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, with a focus on building trust with corporate stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple corporate accounts effectively.
- Proficiency in relevant travel software and booking systems, with experience in corporate travel management platforms being a plus.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Business Administration, Tourism Management) is preferred but not mandatory with significant and relevant corporate sales experience.
