Senior DevOps Engineer

We are looking to hire a "Senior DevOps Engineer" for one of our client companies.

Requirements:

• Based in Singapore
• Minimum of 4 years of industry experience in a DevOps role, with a focus on AWS services.
• Having experience in Singapore Health Cloud is preferred.
• Bachelors degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Profound knowledge and hands-on experience with AWS services including, but not limited to, Fargate, ECS, ECR, ALB, NLB, API Gateway, WAF, Aurora, RDS, S3, Lambda, VPC, SES, EC2, Auto Scaling, Secret Manager, Certificate Manager, CloudWatch, DocumentDB, ElastiCache (Redis), CloudFront, SNS, SQS, Cognito, and KMS.
• Demonstrated experience with container orchestration using services like Fargate and ECS, and implementing load balancing solutions using ALB and NLB.
• Expertise in setting up and managing API Gateway, WAF, Aurora, RDS, and other database services.
• Strong proficiency in writing, deploying, and maintaining AWS CDK scripts with a focus on security and performance.
• Proven ability in using GitLab for CI/CD, including pipeline setup and integration with unit testing.
• Deep understanding of network security, including TLS, mTLS, VPNs with OpenVPN, and execution role-based resource access.
• Proficiency in managing IAM accounts, roles, and policies, including configuring roles with user and token assignments, and setting up assumed roles for various services to effectively manage permission levels
• Expertise in AWS services, including HTTP and REST API Gateways, EventBridge scheduling, and in-depth understanding of AWS Backup and Key Management Service (KMS).
• Ability to explain the rationale behind choosing specific AWS services over alternatives, and to debug and mitigate security risks in the infrastructure.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on efficiency and innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure on AWS, leveraging a range of services and tools including CDK and GitLab.
• Effectively communicate and negotiate with Singapore Compliance boards and institutions. (Ex: Singapore Health Cloud)
• Lead the development and optimization of container orchestration systems, ensuring seamless deployment and scaling of applications.
• Manage load balancers, API gateways, and web application firewalls to ensure high availability and security of services.
• Oversee database management tasks, including setup, maintenance, and optimization of Aurora, RDS, and other AWS database services.
• Write and maintain CDK scripts with a focus on security, performance, and cost-efficiency.
• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines in GitLab, integrating unit tests and ensuring high standards of code quality and deployment practices.
• Troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining high performance.
• Implement and manage network security measures, including TLS/mTLS configurations, VPNs, and execution role-based access controls.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support infrastructure needs, provide insights on best practices, and drive continuous improvement.
• Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and excellence in DevOps practices.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging trends in DevOps and cloud technologies, continuously improving the infrastructure and processes.
