About the Client:

Out client is a leading freight forwarding and logistics service provider offering integrated air, sea, and land transport solutions. With operations in Sri Lanka, Dubai, and Thailand, committed to delivering world-class logistics and supply chain services to its global clientele.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage finance operations for the branches in Sri Lanka, Dubai, and Thailand.
  • Audit and verify invoices raised by each station to ensure accuracy in freight service billing.
  • Manage and reconcile global Statements of Accounts (SOA), following up on receivables and overdue payments.
  • Process and verify vendor payments (shipping lines, airlines, transporters, customs brokers, etc.) ensuring timely settlements.
  • Reconcile vendor and customer SOAs to maintain accurate and discrepancy-free records.
  • Prepare and circulate weekly SOA updates and track outstanding balances.
  • Assist in preparing monthly and annual financial reports including Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet statements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis across all the stations.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records of all transactions.
  • Collaborate with operations and sales teams on job costing, pricing, and billing queries.
  • Coordinate with auditors and consultants for tax assessments, audits, and regulatory compliance.
  • Support financial aspects of company renewals, registrations, and payroll processes.

Requirements:

  • Professional accounting qualifications (ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 5 years experience in finance within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proven experience in team management and financial leadership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a structured approach.
  • Results-driven with a passion for growing an international freight forwarding business.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (preferably Genso and CargoWise platforms).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with overseas branches, agents, and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and other accounting-related tools.
  • Highly organized, goal-oriented, and able to perform under pressure.
