About the role

Were looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to take full ownership of our day-to-day and strategic accounting operations. This is a hands-on role responsible for maintaining accurate financial records in QuickBooks, managing accounts receivable and payable, calculating commissions, and supporting financial planning efforts. While our tax firm will continue to handle filings, this role will be the internal owner of all accounting processes and financial reporting, ensuring full compliance with US GAAP, being responsible for detailed accounting in quickbooks, financial planning, calculating commissions, accounts receivables, and accounts payables"

The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in a structured environment and brings deep technical accounting expertise paired with strong business acumen.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Controller, Senior Accountant, or equivalent role with a strong foundation in US GAAP.
  • Expertise in QuickBooks and full-cycle accounting operations.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting principles.
  • Experience managing commissions, AR/AP, and monthly closings.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to communicate financial insights to leadership.
  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred).
  • Ability to work independently in a remote setting.



Responsibilities

  • Own and manage all accounting operations in QuickBooks, including daily transactions, reconciliations, journal entries, and monthly close.
  • Ensure full compliance with US GAAP across all financial reporting.
  • Maintain accurate and timely accounts payable and receivable, including customer invoicing, collections, and vendor payments.
  • Calculate commissions and ensure accurate tracking and reporting in accordance with company policies.
  • Prepare and maintain internal financial reports and dashboards to support leadership decision-making.
  • Support budgeting and financial planning processes by providing insights, forecasts, and variance analysis.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the external tax firm and ensure timely delivery of reports and data needed for tax compliance.
  • Continuously review and improve accounting processes, documentation, and internal controls.
