Senior Engineer - Banking Technology (Core Banking)

Job Description

• Custom Development & Enhancements
  - Design, develop, and implement customer-specific customizations and new features on the Finacle platform
  - Collaborate with business stakeholders and clients to understand requirements and propose effective technical solutions
  - Optimize code for performance, scalability, and maintainability 
  - Integrate Finacle with third-party systems, ensuring seamless data flow and interoperability

• Level 3 Support
  - Take ownership of complex technical incidents and perform root-cause analysis
  - Troubleshoot critical issues within the Finacle environment and provide timely resolutions
  - Escalate issues where necessary while maintaining accountability for closure

• Project Management & Delivery
  - Lead and deliver Finacle customization and upgrade projects within scope, timeline, and budget
  - Act as the key technical liaison between customers, project managers, and internal teams
  - Ensure timely delivery of customizations, reports, and system enhancements with high quality 

• Collaboration & Team Support
  - Work closely with cross-functional teams to prioritize and manage workloads effectively
  - Share knowledge, best practices, and technical expertise across the team
  - Mentor junior engineers, especially in Finacle development and troubleshooting 

• Report Development & Porting
  - Design and develop custom reports aligned with business requirements
  - Handle porting of existing customizations and reports to newer Finacle versions
  - Ensure compatibility and proper functionality post-upgrade 

• Documentation & Quality Assurance 
  - Prepare comprehensive technical documentation for developments, configurations, and support processes
  - Conduct code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices
  - Collaborate with BA/QA teams to validate functionality, performance, and system integrity 

• Project & Upgrade Support
  - Take ownership of report development and customization porting for system upgrades
  - Support CBS implementation projects including setup, customization, and integrations

• Continuous Improvement & Innovation
  - Identify opportunities to improve development and support processes
  - Stay updated with Finacle releases, emerging technologies, and industry trends

Person Specification

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field 
• 4-6+ years of experience in software development, with strong exposure to Finacle Core Banking 
• Hands-on experience in Finacle customization, scripting, and integrations 
• Strong knowledge of databases (Oracle/ PostgreSQL) and performance tuning 
• Experience in troubleshooting complex production issues (L3 support) 
• Familiarity with Finacle upgrade and implementation projects is highly desirable 
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
