Job Description

  • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of financial statements
  • Review and post monthly journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and inter company adjustments
  • Oversee General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR) operations to ensure completeness and accuracy
  • Coordinate and support external and internal audits by preparing schedules, managing confirmations, and liaising with auditors
  • Approve supplier and operational payments, monitor cash flow, and maintain accurate financial documentation
  • Review and ensure compliance with statutory tax requirements, including income tax computations and regulatory submissions
  • Develop, implement, and strengthen financial controls, policies, and accounting procedures in line with IFRS / SLFRS and local regulations
  • Prepare monthly management reports, variance analyses, and financial insights to support business decision making
  • Partner with business units to drive cost efficiency, budgeting accuracy, and financial planning effectiveness
  • Lead, guide, and develop the finance team to ensure high performance and continuous improvement

Person Specification

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
  • Professional qualification such as CA , ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent is highly desirable
  • Minimum 5-8 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, with at least 2-3 years in a managerial or supervisory role (or equivalent)
  • Hands-on experience in month end closing, financial statement preparation, audit coordination, tax compliance in a Sri Lanka context or similar emerging market
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge (GL, AP, AR, accruals, prepayments, inter company)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem solving skills
  • High proficiency in finance systems and MS Excel, and prior experience with ERP systems (Oracle, SAP) is desirable
  • Experience in an international or multi entity context, and exposure to cross company or group audits
  • Familiarity with Sri Lanka statutory regulatory environment (tax, corporate, audit) is an advantage
