Job Description

  • Performing L3 support tasks within the timelines agreed with the support of correct use of systems/tools/resources etc. deployed at customer site.
  • Working with vendors / principles in identifying root cause and providing solutions to fix them.
  • Identify any capacity or performance bottlenecks and work with other technical staff in developing solutions and work around and implementing the same.
  • Predict capacity and resource requirements and formulate plans to cater them.
  • Work with Principles and other technical teams in designing solutions considering high availability of infrastructure.
  • Ability to identify trends and patters of resource usage and performing optimizations to prepare the infrastructure for high demand / resource usage
  • Adhere to the predefined guidelines of incident management /ticket resolution process
  • Ensure strict adherence to all other internal and customer governed processes and procedures/best practices for effective service delivery
  • Support any other specially assigned tasks on need basis
  • Should be able to communicate clearly with the customer and should be able to identify their requirements clearly in order to provide solid technical solutions.
  • Ability to identify value added services depending on customer environment.
  • Ability to audit customer IT infrastructure (Database & Middleware) and identifying gaps with regards to performance and IT best practices.
  • Ability to work conduct training session to other engineers to up skill them
  • Ability to learn and quickly adopting into new technologies.
  • Provide other functions with support beyond scope of responsibilities in order to achieve common organizational goals
  • Collaborate with other engineers and get the required domain knowledge to support multiple systems.
  • Mentoring junior engineers and assisting them to groom up.

Person Specification 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computing, IT or related field
  • Vendor specific certifications like OCA, OCP
  • Experience in Oracle (10g/11g/12c/18c & 19c) & MySQL databases & Middleware platforms (Weblogic) including installation, configuration, operational support, upgrade, and database migrations.
  • Proficiency in Oracle RAC (Real Application Cluster), DataGuard Environments (physical and logical), ASM (Automatic Storage Management) installation and daily operations.
  • Expertise in backup and recovery RMAN/EXPDP/IMPDP 
  • Oracle DataGuard/Broker installation and configuration
  • Expertise in Oracle Enterprise Manager 12c/13c configuration, agent installation and monitoring on database hosts
  • Expertise in database performance tuning and Middleware platform optimization
  • Hands on experience in performing DR drills.
  • Experience in working in Oracle Engineered Systems (E.g.: EXADATA, ODA)
  • Experience in oracle WebLogic administration
  • Experience in Oracle Secure Backup, Veritas NetBackup 
  • Experience in MySQL/Clustering will be a definite advantage
  • 3-4 years' relevant work experience in Database & Middleware Management and related other services
