VRA Rescue NSW is a vital emergency service organisation supporting communities across New South Wales. Our work saves lives, supports volunteers, and strengthens regional resilience. We are currently seeking an experienced Part Time Administration Officer to join our People, Safety & Culture team based at our Dubbo Office.
This role is ideal for an experienced administrator looking for stable, part-time work that offers work–life balance, professional respect, and the opportunity to contribute directly to an organisation that serves the local community.
About the role
Reporting to and supporting the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner, you will play a key role in keeping our people and operations running smoothly. Your work will directly support staff welfare, operational readiness, and organisational efficiency.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Travel & Accommodation Coordination
- Arrange domestic travel and accommodation for staff attending training, deployments, and official functions
- Ensure travel bookings comply with organisational policies and deliver cost-effective outcomes
- Maintain accurate travel registers, approvals, and expense documentation
General Office Administration
- Provide high-quality administrative support including correspondence, data entry, filing, and record management
- Prepare routine reports, forms, and documentation
- Coordinate meetings, take minutes, and track follow-up actions
- Handle sensitive information with discretion and confidentiality
- Support the implementation of organisational policies and procedures
Executive Secretarial Support
- Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner
About you
You are a capable, organised, and professional administrator who enjoys working both independently and as part of a supportive team. You take pride in your work, value confidentiality, and are motivated by contributing to something bigger than yourself.
Essential requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience in an administrative role within a busy, multi-functional environment
- High-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proven ability to work autonomously and collaboratively
- A strong commitment to confidentiality, integrity, and organisational values
Desirable (but not essential):
- Experience in emergency services, public safety, or the not-for-profit sector
- Familiarity with recordkeeping or document management systems
