Role Overview
The Marketing Director will serve as a strategic leader responsible for defining and communicating the brand's overall marketing strategy to the marketplace. This role focuses on aligning marketing efforts across diverse channels - including showroom retailers, representatives, and e-commerce - to ensure a cohesive brand image and message. The ideal candidate balances professional organization with an interest in design trends and fashion, prioritizing project management and data-driven results over purely creative pursuits.
Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy and a system of metrics and KPIs to measure campaign performance.
- Brand Identity & Content: Maintain a cohesive look for the company across all platforms, overseeing image and content data for social media and showrooms.
- Project & Channel Management: Manage the successful implementation of the annual product catalogue and ensure channel alignment across retail and digital platforms.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the e-commerce manager and the product development team to bring organizational systems to life.
- Reporting: Communicate campaign performance and movement to leadership, moving beyond what was done to explain how it performed.
- Budget & Team Oversight: Manage the marketing budget and supervise a team of contractors, including content writers, photography personnel, and the Art Director.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven background in marketing leadership, creative direction, or channel marketing management.
- Technical Knowledge: Deep familiarity with showroom and e-commerce channels is highly preferred.
- Skills: Strong project management experience is essential, as is the ability to lead by consensus.
- Industry Interest: A genuine interest in trends, fashion, and interior design is considered a significant plus.
- Communication: Exceptional communication skills and the ability to "read the room" while remaining business-oriented and collaborative.
- Education: A degree is preferred.
Operational Details
- Travel: Approximately 8% to 10% travel, including attendance at major industry shows twice a year.
- Supervision: Oversees internal and contract staff, including an Art Director and a Copywriter.
