SEC Reporting Analyst
This role is for an SEC Financial Reporting Analyst within the corporate financial reporting team of a large scale energy operations. The position is centered on ensuring the accuracy of public disclosures and maintaining the integrity of the financial reporting process.
Role Overview
As an SEC Financial Reporting Analyst, you will be a key contributor to the preparation and analysis of periodic SEC and regulatory filings. This role requires a high degree of technical accounting knowledge and the ability to collaborate across departments such as legal, treasury, and investor relations to provide critical financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- SEC Filings: Participate in the preparation, documentation, and analysis of periodic SEC and regulatory reporting and disclosures (Forms 10-K, 10-Q, etc.).
- Financial Statement Preparation: Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly internal financial statements and cash flow analysis.
- Internal Controls: Support the maintenance of internal controls over financial reporting to ensure the integrity of all published data.
- Technical Accounting: Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards and evolving financial reporting requirements.
- Audit Support: Act as a primary point of contact and provide necessary documentation and assistance to external auditors.
- Policy Development: Assist in developing and maintaining written policies and procedures governing the financial reporting process.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interface with and support various departments, including legal, investor relations, and treasury, on ad hoc financial projects and initiatives.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
- Certification: A CPA license or an advanced degree is preferred.
- Experience: Ideally 4 to 7 years of relevant experience in public accounting or corporate financial reporting.
- Technical Skills: * Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
- Experience with SAP or similar enterprise financial systems is preferred.
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex accounting concepts to various stakeholders.
