Senior Manager, Tax

Job Description:

Responsible for the management of the Company's tax matters, including domestic and international tax planning, tax compliance, tax accounting, and tax audit defense.  The responsibilities include the management of third-party advisors and individual contributors within the department.

Responsibilities:

Oversee the accurate preparation of domestic income tax compliance filings and related matters, through a co-sourcing arrangement we have with an external tax firm.

Manage all aspects of the tax accounting process, including quarterly review and preparation of tax provision workpapers, tax account reconciliations, technical accounting issue research and analysis, and financial statement disclosures.

Manage and develop the tax team consisting of two analysts and two senior analysts, including responsibility for developing their annual goals and providing midyear and annual evaluations.

Manage and review indirect tax compliance matters, including sales and use tax filings and property tax filings.

Oversee tax-related internal controls and accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.

Monitor changes in the tax code and related rulings for developments that affect the Company's tax compliance, strategy, and accounting.

Facilitate domestic tax audits, including timely responses to all data requests, and articulating and defending the Company's positions.

Ability to research and document technical tax issues.

Support and participate in strategic tax planning for the Company.

Participate in cash tax forecasting and optimization.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Strong leadership skills and ability to develop team members

Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance

At least 10 years of relevant tax experience

At least 4 years of experience managing individual team members

Prior Big Four or regional public accounting experience

Strong technical expertise in ASC 740 principles and US federal taxation

Professional Certifications:

Certified Public Accountant (preferred)

Masters in Taxation (preferred)
