About the Role:

The Assistant Account Executive / Account Executive will;

  • help manage the day-to-day operational execution of all projects across designated pods and on going projects.
  • liaise with the TBWA\HAKUHODO's operations and finance teams to ensure the smooth running of the Media Arts Lab office.
  • help facilitate the strategic and creative development, while ensuring flawless execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Definition of 3 types of work

    • Localization: Adaptation of global creative to address legal, comprehension, and/or cultural issues; meant to ensure all ideas can run globally.
    • Amplification: Global creative platform adapted to address a local business problem or opportunity.
    • Origination: Bespoke local campaign to address a local business problem or opportunity.

Localization

  • Drive adaptation process, work on global and regional briefs as required.
  • Be a point of contact with the LA team
  • Be responsible for quality control.
  • Maintain schedule campaigns for specific region.
  • Work with planning to provide Japan specific strategy, with understanding of Japan culture and consumer's insight/behavior.
  • Ensure localized creative matches campaign strategy.
  • Be responsible for updating the budget status.
  • Control production estimates by working closely with production departments.
  • Build a strong relationship with partnering agency (OMD HAKUHODO) and local clients.

Amplification/Origination

  • Be a point of contact to LA team.
  • Be responsible for quality control.
  • Maintain schedule campaigns for the project.
  • Work with planning to provide brief and strategy.
  • Control production estimates and process by working closely with production departments.
  • Build a strong relationship with local clients.

Client Liaison

  • Build a strong relationship with the local client and become a thought leadership.
  • Demonstrate a full understanding of the client's business in Japan,
  • Japanese consumer's insight and behavior, and business objectives with a view to strategically identifying opportunities to extend existing global campaigns on a local market basis.

LA Liaison
Maintain close communication and collaborate with account executives and project managers in LA providing project status updates, flagging issues and potential solutions as well as ensuring local market opportunities, insights, context and culture are well represented. Ensure that important updates from LA are disseminated as necessary throughout the Tokyo office.

General
Undertake ad-hoc duties / project work, on a permanent or temporary basis, as directed, that may sit outside of the 'key responsibilities' detailed above but that is broadly and reasonably in-keeping with the remit of the Account Executive role.

About you:

  • Understanding of advertising media in Japan.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Resourcefulness and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proactive attitude and a team player must.
  • Ability to work well on multiple projects.
  • Understanding of essentials to social currency, namely music, youth and technology.
  • Experience in advertising or marketing, international experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
