Job Title: Japan Media and Data Senior Manager (Full-time Permanent)

Salary Range: ¥12,000,000 - ¥16,700,000 JPY per year

  • Includes estimated bonus and Long-Term Incentive.
  • Final salary determined based on experience and skills.

About the Role:
Unilever Japan is seeking a strategic and experienced Japan Media and Data Senior Manager to lead the development and execution of our media vision and data strategy. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maximizing Return on Marketing Investment (ROMI), driving breakthrough innovation, and ensuring functional excellence across our media value chain. You will act as a key business partner to marketing leaders and the Country GM, leading a team of two (Media and Data) and shaping how we leverage data and media for significant business growth in the Japanese market.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of the media vision and strategy for Japan, aligning with global/regional teams and local marketing objectives.
  • Manage and optimize the media investment P&L to deliver maximum ROMI, focusing on both cost efficiency and quality.
  • Lead the localization of global media/channel strategies into effective country-specific plans.
  • Oversee and optimize the performance of media and digital agencies, ensuring strong partnership and value delivery.
  • Lead the development of the country's data strategy, including roadmap for data collection and usage across marketing and sales (e.g., audience strategy, activation evaluation, CRM).
  • Partner with marketing and sales teams to generate actionable insights from data analytics.
  • Ensure flawless execution of media/channel strategies and uphold strict media discipline and governance through audits.
  • Drive capability building within the team and across the marketing function by sharing best practices.

What You'll Bring (Mandatory):

  • Minimum of ~8+ years of experience in media, marketing, or digital.
  • Strong background at a Media Partner, or within a media/marketing/digital agency.
  • Proven, strong digital marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in all key job skills for a senior media and data leadership role.
  • Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (required for interviews and daily work).
