For over four decades, Harley-Davidson of Indianapolis has prided itself on giving back to the local community while sharing the sport of motorcycling. For every motorcycle sold, they work with the Patachou Foundation to provide meal assistance for 10 children in the local community.

Now that is community impact.

As they move through 2024 and beyond, the managing partners are searching for their next General Manager, who will invest in the community, share their passion for the Harley-Davidson lifestyle, and continue to elevate the customer experience and reputation of our dealership.

Required Experience:

To be considered, you must have the following from within a Harley-Davidson, Euro/metric motorcycle dealership, or from within the automotive industry:

  • 5+ years of progressive leadership experience
  • 3 years of sales management, planning, and KPI analysis experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage all financial and management aspects of a multimillion-dollar business.
  • Current Motorcycle endorsement or state license
  • Deep knowledge of Finance & Insurance processes and protocols.
  • Willing to relocate to the vicinity of Fishers, Indiana 46038 (Managing Partners are willing to discuss relocation reimbursement options)

Preferred Experience:

  • Previous General Manager or General Sales Manager experience in a Harley-Davidson, Euro, or metric motorcycle dealership
  • Knowledge and experience of Harley-Davidson products, services, and lifestyle.
  • Familiarity with the 9-step sales process (ex. Lemco, Garage Composites, Tom OConnor)
  • Experience upscaling sales efforts, revenue, and customer retention

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide direction, coordination, and oversight across all areas of the dealership.
  • Ensure departments maintain budgeted revenue and expense objectives.
  • Hold department managers accountable for established monthly/annual objectives and financial goals.
  • Approve all major departmental expenditures.
  • In coordination with the Managing Partner(s), make recommendations/changes to the operating plan and related budgets.
  • Coach, counsel, and evaluate direct reports.
  • Manage the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, and termination of staff.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews for direct reports.
  • Conduct monthly composite reviews with managers
  • Provide appropriate training for the management team (seminars, sales training, technical training, etc.)
  • Manage conflicts swiftly and compassionately
