About the job Tool Crib Attendant
Description
The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for managing and maintaining inventory of tools and supplies to support effective operations of the machine shop and fabrication departments. Works directly under direction the shop supervisors to set-up, distribute and maintain tooling and supplies. Works with purchasing as well as shipping and receiving to manage inventory levels.
Responsibilities:
· Issue tooling, fixtures, consumables, and accessories to machinists/fabricators as needed.
- Monitor inventory levels and alert supervisor on below minimum quantity items.
- Keep tool crib area clean and safe per standards.
- Monitor and maintain tooling that requires reconditioning or disposal.
- Follow workplace safety standards.
- Assist team members in other areas if needed to meet daily production goals.
- Assist in problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
· High School diploma or GED.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Basic knowledge of CNC/fabrication tooling.
- Basic computer skills a must.
- Good mechanical ability and manual dexterity are essential (able to stand for long periods of time).
- Attention to detail.
- Able to safely lift up to 50 pounds at varying frequencies.
- Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
- Ability to work overtime as required.
