CNC Machinist & Programmer

Hours 7:30am-4pm Monday-Friday
Experience: 5 years
Education Level: High School with Technical School*
Salary Range: $22-$32/hr based on skills and experience
*Programming education/certification required
Essential Job Functions:
- Operate CNC lathes and milling machines including program setup and running operations. (Mazak, DMG/Mori)
- Program complex parts for CNC multi-axis lathes & mills (Use of G-code and/or conversational programming on Mazak lathes & mills)
- Develop machine set-ups and program edits, ensuring programs are organized and preserved
- Understand geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)
- Read and interpret 2-D shop prints
- Select proper tooling for production and manufacturing
- Work with tolerances to +/- .001
- Maintain highest levels of quality as specified by customer requirements
- Inspect parts using a variety of equipment: micrometers, calipers, optical comparators, other as needed
- Demonstrate forward thinking to anticipate and avoid problems, and effectively trouble-shoot and resolve any problems that do arise
- Work with minimal supervision, but also engage productively within a team environment
- Update job paperwork, keeping it accurate and organized
- Use electronic Job Tracking system to ensure job status remains accurate and up-to-date
- Perform prescribed preventive maintenance on machines as required per M/M schedules
- Other duties may be assigned as necessary and appropriate
Required Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of machining and strong machining skills
- 5 years experience turning and set-up on CNC Lathes/Mills
- Medium to high level of experience with tools and inserts
- Experience in inspection of machined parts
- Trigonometry & Blueprint literacy

Required Materials:
- Steel toe safety footwear - company allowance
- Standard safety glasses w/side shields company provides
- Prescription safety glasses must be approved by OSHA standard and have side shields
