About the job Machine Assembler
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machine Assembler to join our manufacturing team. This role involves the mechanical assembly of large-scale industrial food processing machines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience installing motors, gearboxes, belts, and hoses, and must be proficient in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints and schematics.
Hours 6:00am-2:30 Mon-Fri with expectation of overtime to 4:00pm and Saturdays 6:00-1pm as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble industrial food processing equipment according to engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Install and align motors, gearboxes, belts, pulleys, and hoses with precision and care.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and lifting equipment to position and secure components.
- Perform mechanical adjustments and calibrations to ensure proper machine function.
- Conduct quality checks and troubleshoot mechanical issues during and after assembly.
- Collaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to resolve design or assembly issues.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in compliance with safety and sanitation standards.
- Document assembly processes and report any discrepancies or improvements.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in mechanical assembly or industrial maintenance preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and schematics.
- Proficient with mechanical tools and equipment, including torque wrenches, calipers, and hoists.
- Familiarity with industrial components such as motors, gearboxes, belts, and pneumatic/hydraulic systems.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and teamwork.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the food processing equipment industry.
- Knowledge of sanitary design and food safety standards.
- Forklift certification or experience operating overhead cranes.
