About the job Barman/Waiter

Primary Purpose

The Barman/Waiter will provide excellent service to guests by preparing and serving beverages and food, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hospitality in the bar and dining areas.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet and serve guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Prepare and serve a variety of beverages (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) according to recipes and guest preferences.
  • Take accurate food and drink orders and communicate them to the kitchen/bar.
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar, tables, and service areas.
  • Manage inventory, restock supplies, and ensure all items are available for service.
  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately.
  • Check identification to ensure legal drinking age when serving alcohol.
  • Address guest inquiries, complaints, and requests efficiently.
  • Follow all health, safety, and hygiene regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate or diploma in Hospitality/Restaurant/Bar Service preferred
  • Minimum 12 years' experience in a similar role (hotel, restaurant, or bar)

Competencies:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure
  • Attention to detail and cleanliness
  • Teamwork and flexibility (including shifts, weekends, and holidays)
  • Basic numeracy for handling payments
  • Fluent in English and French
  • Well-groomed, polite, and professional demeanour
