Primary Purpose

The Steward will ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and smooth operations in the kitchen and dining areas, supporting the culinary and service teams in delivering a high-quality guest experience.

Responsibilities:

Kitchen & Back-of-House Duties

  • Clean and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and workstations.
  • Assist in waste disposal following hygiene and safety protocols.
  • Restock clean items in designated areas.
  • Support chefs and service staff during food preparation and service.
  • Receive and store deliveries as needed.
  • Perform general cleaning tasks and assist with special requests.

Front-of-House & Guest Service Duties

  • Assist staff in serving food and beverages to guests.
  • Refill water glasses and attend to basic guest needs.
  • Clear and reset tables promptly and efficiently.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of the dining area.
  • Provide courteous and responsive service to guests.

Any other assignments as may be delegated to you.

Qualifications:

  • Certificate or diploma in hospitality or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience (usually 12 years) in a similar role in the hospitality industry.
  • Good communication skills in English and French; knowledge of other languages is a plus.

Competencies:

  • Basic knowledge of food hygiene and safety (HACCP preferred).
  • Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Teamwork and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, weekends, and holidays.
