Mechanical Project Engineer

A well-established firm is looking for a Mechanical Project Engineer to join their Roanoke-based office. This role involves leading the mechanical design of HVAC systems for a diverse range of building types such as educational institutions, public facilities, cultural centers, and commercial spaces. The right candidate will thrive in a collaborative environment, demonstrate excellent communication abilities, and be enthusiastic about mentoring less experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop HVAC system layouts for multiple facility types
• Coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and client representatives
• Guide and support junior engineering staff
• Deliver project milestones on schedule and within scope

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia
• 7 to 10 years of related engineering experience preferred
• Strong working knowledge of load calculation and energy modeling software (e.g., Trace, ComCheck)
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel)
• Experience with BIM/Revit software strongly preferred
