Job Title: Bookkeeper / Controller (Full-Cycle Accounting)
Location: Remote
Reports To: Owner / Leadership Team
Work Shift: Flexible with partial US overlap required
Working Hours: Part-time; 20 hours per week

Job Description:

We are seeking a Bookkeeper / Controller to take ownership of the accounting function for a growing business operating in manufacturing and distribution. This role is responsible for managing full-cycle bookkeeping, delivering accurate financial reporting, and providing visibility into cash flow and inventory-related costs.

The role goes beyond basic bookkeeping and requires the ability to review financials, manage month-end close, and ensure the business has reliable financial data for decision-making. The ideal candidate is comfortable handling both day-to-day accounting tasks and higher-level financial oversight.

Key Responsibilities:

Full-Cycle Accounting

  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes

  • Perform bank and account reconciliations

  • Prepare and post journal entries

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records

Month-End Close & Reporting

  • Own the monthly close process and ensure timely completion

  • Prepare financial statements and supporting reports

  • Review financial data for accuracy and consistency

  • Identify discrepancies and resolve issues proactively

Cash Flow & Financial Oversight

  • Monitor and manage cash flow across the business

  • Support cash flow forecasting and planning

  • Provide visibility into financial performance and trends

Inventory & Cost Accounting

  • Track inventory costs and support COGS analysis

  • Ensure accurate valuation and reporting of inventory

  • Work closely with operations to align financial and inventory data

Systems & Process Management

  • Manage accounting workflows within QuickBooks or similar platforms

  • Improve processes for financial tracking and reporting

  • Maintain organized financial documentation


Qualifications:

Required

  • Experience in full-cycle bookkeeping and accounting

  • Strong proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting systems

  • Experience with month-end close and financial reporting

  • Strong understanding of cash flow management

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy


Preferred

  • Experience in manufacturing or distribution environments

  • Experience with inventory accounting and COGS analysis

  • Background in financial forecasting or planning

  • Accounting certification (CPA or equivalent)
