Job Description:
We are looking for a hands-on reliable and detail-oriented Accountant to support the financial operations of a small but growing manufacturing business.
This role will begin with core bookkeeping and transaction management and may expand into broader accounting support depending on the candidate’s skills and capacity. The ideal candidate has strong fundamentals in bookkeeping and is comfortable working in environments that involve inventory, deposits, and customer billing.
Key Responsibilities:
Bookkeeping & Reconciliations
Perform regular bank and credit card reconciliations
Reconcile loan accounts
Maintain accurate financial records in QuickBooks Online
Record and categorize transactions accurately and consistently
Assist with journal entries as needed
Accounts Receivable & Customer Billing
Prepare and send customer invoices
Track and apply customer PO deposits against invoices
Follow up on outstanding receivables as needed
Provide weekly update to sales team on customers’ accounts
Accounts Payable
Process vendor bills in a timely manner
Process inventory bills in a timely manner
Inventory & Cost Accounting Support
- Help ensure proper matching of purchasing activity, inventory balances, and expense recognition
- Support inventory accounting in accordance with GAAP, including tracking, reconciliation, and cutoff considerations
- Recording and Analyze cost of goods sold (COGS), including direct materials, labor, and manufacturing overhead
General Accounting Support
Adhere to the month end close checklist
Identify discrepancies or unusual transactions
Take on additional accounting-related tasks as skills and capacity grow
Qualifications:
3-5 years accounting experience
Month end close ownership.
- Professional and timely communications, both verbal and written, with all levels.
US GAAP knowledge.
Proven experience in bookkeeping or accounting support
- Strong working knowledge of QuickBooks Online, Intermediate Excel skills.
Experience with bank, credit card and loans reconciliations
- Hands on management of Customer Billing, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payables.
Inventory for consumer goods companies.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Nice to Have:
- US GAAP Experience working for USA companies over $50M in annual revenues.
Consumer goods experience – ideally manufacturing background
Experience with Accruals, Prepaids, Fixed Assets.
Experience Supporting external financial audits.
