Job Description:

We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-driven Inventory Demand Planner who can take full ownership of the inventory planning function across multiple eCommerce brands. This role requires deep competency in forecasting, SKU-level analysis, unit economics, and supporting real-time financial decision-making.

This is a specialised role focused only on forecasting and planning, with no supplier management or procurement responsibilities. The Demand Planner will play a critical role in maintaining accurate inventory projections and ensuring these seamlessly align with the FP&A teams cash flow forecasts.

The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced environments, works accurately under pressure, communicates clearly, and brings strong eCommerce experience. You will manage planning cycles, optimise stock levels, and identify financial risks and opportunities through SKU-level performance analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

Inventory Forecasting and Planning

  • Build and maintain accurate demand forecasts using historical sales, seasonality, trends, and promotional activity

  • Execute weekly, monthly, and quarterly planning cycles with precision

  • Plan replenishment timelines to maintain optimal stock availability

  • Monitor stock cover, inventory turnover, and demand variability; adjust forecasts accordingly

  • Work closely with FP&A to ensure inventory projections match cash flow expectations

Data Accuracy and SKU-Level Analysis

  • Maintain complete accuracy of inventory data within all systems

  • Conduct SKU-level margin, unit economics, and sell-through analysis

  • Identify slow-moving, overstocked, and underperforming SKUs and flag financial risk early

  • Reconcile discrepancies in inventory counts and data feeds

  • Produce reporting dashboards for forecasting accuracy, inventory KPIs, and stock efficiency

Cost Optimisation

  • Reduce landed cost per unit through demand planning and consolidation strategies

  • Optimise order quantities by evaluating MOQ vs. carrying cost trade-offs

  • Identify consolidation opportunities across SKUs to reduce logistics and unit cost

  • Recommend product rationalisation based on profitability and contribution margin insights

Cycle and Stock Management

  • Oversee inventory planning rhythms and ensure timely updates
Collaborate with marketing on campaign impacts and product launches

  • Run stock cover reports, ageing reports, and forward-looking supply position analysis

Cross-Functional Support

  • Provide brands, marketing, and finance teams with clear, accurate inventory insights to guide decision-making
Flag inventory risk (overstock, stockouts, absorption issues) before it becomes a cash flow problem

  • Support strategic planning by providing visibility over future stock requirements and cost timing

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an Inventory or Demand Planner

  • Strong eCommerce industry experience preferred

  • Ability to analyse SKU performance, demand variability, and unit economics

  • Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills

  • High accuracy, exceptional attention to detail, and consistency in reporting

  • Ability to manage multiple planning cycles and deadlines

  • Strong communication skills

  • Analytical thinker with proactive problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Have:

  • Experience with ERP or WMS systems

  • Experience with Shopify or Amazon

  • Experience working with sales analytics, contribution margin, or FP&A teams
