Introduction

We are seeking a passionate, experienced strategy leader to be a Lead in our Madrid studio. An advocate for thought leadership within Mormedi, our clients’ organizations and within the industry. You will have significant experience and knowledge and will work hand-in-hand with the leadership team to inspire and motivate our team, our clients, and our clients’ customers.

Key capacities include ability to manage client relationships, identify sell-on opportunities, manage multiple projects and be a confident and proficient team leader.

In this role you will:

Curate, mentor, and grow our design strategy and business innovation team, ensuring everyone is empowered to do their best work.

Be an important leader within the studio environment, working with and growing our fantastic and talented team.

Lead large complex client engagements and enjoy partnering with clients to drive successful Strategy outcomes.

Understand how to balance project work with commercial objectives without undermining the quality of our work.

Be a natural communicator and bring a positive energy to any conversation with purpose and vision.

Be business savvy and can identify opportunities and see the potential in any project or client engagement.

Project thought leadership in your field as well as the ability to create original content.

Apply and evolve your expertise in design and business strategy.

Understand other design disciplines and processes (across Design, Brand, Digital) as well as new technologies and industry developments (AR, VR, AI, wearables, etc.).

Responsibilities

You will make significant contributions to the strategy design practice. You will help the leadership team to consolidate and evolve Mormedi methodology expertise related to Design and Business Strategy.

  • Definition and in project supervision of methodological approaches.
  • Coaching and training the team in new methodologies.
  • Foment integration and cross-discipline practice with Mormedi design disciplines.

In guiding multidisciplinary project teams, you will:

  • Supervise and train emerging project leaders in project management, strategy approaches, and content quality.
  • Understand and anticipate the needs of clients with an overall vision of the project priorities.
  • Navigate complex projects and transmit confidence to the client.
  • Lead, guide, and empower multidisciplinary project teams throughout all phases of a given project.
  • Be able to jump in and support the team with hands-on support and content when needed.
  • Create exquisite deliverables and content, with on-time delivery and invoicing according to established project plan and in compliance with Mormedi quality standards.
  • Collaborate with other Leads and Directors (Design and Digital) to ensure coherence regarding teamwork, approach, deliverables - as well as fostering an overall sense of Mormedi community.
  • Planning and resource management of internal and external teams; client satisfaction, project profitability,

Business development – you will detect commercial opportunities and involve company leadership in order to evaluate how to push them forward. You will also support Mormedi business development meetings, and assist in proposal writing (Strategic POV, Methodology, Content).

Marketing support – you will participate in relevant events / conferences and create content (articles and presentations) that help to position Mormedi as a thought leader and increase its competitive edge.

Skills

Senior leadership skills– capacity to cultivate and transmit Mormedi´s vision and convey its differential value to the client; lead internal, external and client teams through highly complex projects; senior ability to direct content for projects with a high degree of complexity.

Strategic thinking – confidence and maturity in strategic leadership. Experience in leading and facilitating the project process within a multidisciplinary team context and for highly complex projects with international focus. Excellent analysis and synthesis skills.

Methodology expertise – deep knowledge of Design and/or Business Strategy fields and methodologies, didactic ability to transmit knowledge to team, and a fluid ability to devise methods to apply them in projects. Basic knowledge of other disciplines and areas such as design, UX/UI, data analysis, programming, product development, emerging technologies or any other technical area are highly appreciated.

Ability to lead and motivate – proactively foment a positive working environment and excellent teamwork culture while ensuring quality of deliverables and project profitability.

Project management – ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines, establish resource and planning priorities, efficient planning and follow up, periodic reporting of project status and key information to leadership team.

Project management and content creation tools – excellent knowledge and expertise in project management software as well as tools used for content creation; ability to train and coach team in the use of these tools to deliver highly attractive deliverables in the requested timeframes; ability to create and/or direct the creation of presentations with a compelling storytelling component.

Oral, visual and written communication – ability and maturity regarding all levels of communication; ability to create visually compelling and clear deliverables.

Languages – high professional proficiency in English and Spanish, a third language is appreciated.

Experience

Minimum 8+ years of experience in the context of Strategy; minimum 5 years of experience in a leading role for international clients and throughout different industry sectors.

Qualifications

An appropriate Bachelor or master’s qualification, the ability to travel when needed and permission to live and work in Spain.
