Overall Purpose

The Accounts Manager will:

  • Ensure strong accounting and reporting practices, including overseeing and monitoring an effective control environment and providing sound financial advice to the management team.
  • Prepare financial statements, budget reports, forecasts, cost analysis reports, and make appropriate financial recommendations.
  • Monitor and provide financial analysis and support to the GCFO/GDCFO on business transactions and departmental performance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage all accounting, financial reporting, analysis, and interpretation of operating financial data.
  • Ensure all reports are prepared and communicated to the reporting line on a timely basis with complete and accurate figures.
  • Manage teams to coordinate and deliver on internal and external reporting requirements, ensuring all deadlines and standards are met.
  • Take ownership of the audit process by liaising with external auditors, providing necessary documentation in a timely manner, and preparing financial statements.
  • Ensure all accounts are prepared in accordance with the latest accounting standards.
  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy of budgets and financial reporting.

  • Ensure all financial statements are complete, accurate, and compliant with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and applicable industry standards.
  • Monitor and enhance compliance controls, structures, and automated processes to ensure effective financial management and control.
  • Assist in coordinating annual audit engagements with internal and external auditors to ensure audit requirements are met promptly.
  • Lead, plan, coordinate, and manage the accounting team, including supporting the development of their skills and knowledge.
  • Responsible for efficiently performing any other related duties as requested by the Head of Department.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

  • ACCA or ACA Qualified

  • At least 5 years of experience with a strong financial and technical accounting background
  • Experience in auditing is an advantage
