Job Purpose:

The Barman is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, providing excellent customer service, and maintaining a clean and organized bar area. This role requires strong knowledge of mixology, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key duties :

  • Ensure that all company policies, procedures, and standard operating processes. 
  • Ensure that you and your team are dressed in the correct uniform.
  • Effectively communicates with Guests, Chef team and Team Member.

  • Performs interviews and assists with the selection process of new Team Members.
  • Participates in performance reviews and disciplinary coaching of hourly Team Members
  • Completes all opening and closing duties, to include cash handling, inventory, and other daily reports.
  • Welcomes Guests as they enter the Bar and set the stage for the hospitality experience. Provide excellent customer service, greeting and engaging with guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Check Customers identification and confirm it meets the legal drinking age for children.
  • Prepare and serve a wide range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, following established recipes and techniques.
  • Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including stocking supplies, glassware, and garnishes.
  • Take guest orders and process payments accurately, following cash handling procedures.
  • Engage with guests, offering recommendations, and providing information about different drinks and menu options.
  • Adhere to all responsible alcohol service guidelines, ensuring the responsible consumption of alcoholic beverages.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen and wait staff to ensure timely delivery of food and beverage orders.
  • Maintain knowledge of current drink trends, new products, and techniques in mixology.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders for supplies as needed and submit them to supervisor .
  • Follow health and safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in the bar area.
  • Handle any guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.

  • Assist in training and mentoring new bartenders or bar staff.

  • Strong knowledge of different types of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including spirits, wine, beer, and cocktails.
  • Excellent mixology skills and ability to create unique and well-crafted drinks.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Knowledge of responsible alcohol service practices and regulations.

  • Familiarity with cash handling and point-of-sale systems.

  • Flexibility to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies.

  • Stay guest focused and nurture an excellent guest experience.

  • All important and urgent messages should be written in the bar logbook clearly.
  • All breakages are to be recorded in the breakage book and to be signed off weekly by the Food & beverage Manager.
  • Work as a model and be expertise for Mystik lifestyle hotel .

  • Assist wherever necessary in the correct separation of waste for disposal. Cans, bottles, and trash are thrown away in the correct bins.
  • Use biodegradable or compostable straws, stirrers, napkins, and other single-use items whenever possible. This reduces the impact on landfills and marine ecosystems.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • \Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Barman or in a similar leadership role in a hotel or high-volume restaurant.
  • Up-to-date with current food and beverage trends, best practices, and innovations in mixology.
  • Possesses strong knowledge of mixology, including preparation of classic and contemporary cocktails.
  • Demonstrates a strong guest-oriented mindset, ensuring exceptional customer service and experience.
  • Actively maintains cleanliness by managing litter and waste around the bar and hotel premises.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to engage with guests and team members effectively.
  • Skilled at managing multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining high service standards.
  • Maintains composure and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Demonstrates excellent communication skills and the ability to lead and coordinate with team members effectively.
  • Exhibits meticulous attention to detail in drink preparation, presentation, and service.
  • Presents as a well-spoken, presentable, and professional individual at all times.
  • Willingness to work evenings, weekends, public holidays, and varied shifts as required by operational needs.
  • Quickly identifies and resolves issues to maintain smooth bar operations and guest satisfaction.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the bar area for extended periods as needed.
  • Proficient in handling bar equipment and utensils with precision and care.
  • Comfortable working in varying conditions, including loud environments and low lighting, while maintaining professionalism.
