Electrical Project Manager Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of progressive experience in electrical project management, with a proven track record of successfully delivering projects of varying scales and complexities.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and installation methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other relevant electrical standards and regulations.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6, Procore, etc.) and electrical design/CAD software.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Solid financial acumen and experience with budget management.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Electrical Project Manager Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans specific to electrical systems, including scope, objectives, schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Define project goals and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders, considering electrical codes and standards.
  • Lead and motivate project teams, including electrical superintendents, foremen, electricians, subcontractors, and other site personnel.
  • Conduct regular team meetings and performance reviews.
  • Monitor electrical project costs and financial performance against budget.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules for electrical installations, ensuring critical milestones are met.
  • Ensure all electrical work adheres to project specifications, industry standards (e.g., NEC), and regulatory requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, engineers, general contractors, and other key stakeholders regarding electrical aspects.
  • Promote and enforce a strong safety culture on all project sites, with particular emphasis on electrical safety protocols (e.g., LOTO, arc flash).
  • Prepare and present regular project reports, including progress, financial status, and forecasts, with an emphasis on electrical scope.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation, including permits, electrical drawings, specifications, and correspondence.
