Mountain Sage Community School, a Waldorf-inspired public charter school serving grades K–8, is seeking 2–3 compassionate, skilled, and flexible Paraprofessionals to support students with diverse learning needs for the 2026–2027 school year. These positions may include general education classroom support and/or integrated services support, depending on candidate experience and school needs.

As an integral part of our team, paraprofessionals work closely with classroom teachers, special education staff, specialists, and families to implement personalized supports that promote success for every student within the general education setting.
Position Types
We are hiring for paraprofessional roles that may fall into one of the following categories. Final role placement will be determined based on candidate strengths and school needs.
General Education Paraprofessional
Supports the classroom teacher in a general education setting by assisting with whole-group instruction, small group work, classroom management, and creating an inclusive and engaging learning environment for all students.
Integrated Services Paraprofessional
Works closely with special education staff and service providers to support students with identified learning, behavioral, or social-emotional needs. This may include one-on-one or small group support, implementation of IEP goals, and targeted intervention strategies within the general education setting.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may vary slightly depending on assignment (general education or integrated services), but all paraprofessionals:
- Collaborate with teachers and related service providers to implement educational plans and behavioral strategies
- Assist in adapting instructional materials and activities to ensure accessibility for students with diverse learning needs, including students with disabilities, English language learners, and those requiring social-emotional support
- Provide targeted support during classroom instruction, small group work, and one-to-one settings
- Support students' social-emotional development through consistent behavior management and self-regulation strategies
- Assist with ongoing data collection, including behavioral observations, skill assessments, and progress notes
- Track and report student progress to inform instruction and intervention planning
- Help create a nurturing, inclusive classroom environment that fosters respect, responsibility, and a love of learning
- Support positive classroom climate through restorative practices and proactive behavior strategies
- Collaborate with teachers and specialists to communicate effectively with families about student progress and needs
- Assist with school safety protocols, including supervision during transitions, recess, arrival/dismissal, and emergencies
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate's degree or coursework in education or child development preferred
- Experience working with students with diverse learning needs in a classroom or integrated support setting
- Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, specialists, and families
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Understanding of elementary and/or middle school education concepts and differentiation strategies
- Basic technology proficiency and familiarity with educational tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, child development, or a related field
- Experience or training in Waldorf education or arts-integrated practices
Compensation and Hours
- Hours are 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Monday through Thursday, and 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM on Fridays during the academic school year
- Pay range starts at $19.50/hour, dependent upon certification and relevant experience
Outdoor Learning Environment
