Cross Country Coach

 Job Description:

Mountain Sage Community School is seeking a Cross Country Coach for the 2025-26 school year, from mid-August through early October.

Our middle school athletics program includes a 6th-8th Grade Cross Country each fall. The team competes at meets throughout Fort Collins and the surrounding areas. Practices are held at Mountain Sage after school from 3:45 PM to 5:00 PM on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Cross Country offers students an opportunity to improve their physical fitness, develop teamwork, and showcase their dedication by representing the MSCS Dragons at local meets alongside fellow middle school athletes across the Poudre School District.

  • The coaching position carries a stipend of $2,000 for the season.
  • Successful candidates must complete a background check as part of the hiring process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and lead structured running practices three days per week, including participating in runs alongside students.
  • Coordinate with the Poudre School District Athletic Director and race organizers to facilitate the teams participation in approximately five invitational meets.
  • Collaborate closely with the Assistant Cross Country Coach, assisting with practices and other team needs.
  • Maintain open communication with parents and students to foster a positive sportsmanship culture, promote safe exercise and training habits, and manage logistics such as uniform orders and transportation arrangements for meets.
