Civil Design Engineer
About the job Civil Design Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Design & Drafting: Prepare engineering designs, drawings, and specifications for mine site infrastructure (roads, bridges, drainage, tunnels, retaining walls, dams, tailings storage facilities, etc.).
- Mine Site Infrastructure: Plan and design haul roads, water supply systems, stormwater and drainage systems, foundations, and earthworks for mining equipment and facilities.
- Geotechnical & Structural Support: Work with geotechnical engineers to ensure ground stability, slope designs, and safe excavation layouts.
- Project Management: Manage and monitor construction activities, ensuring compliance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all designs meet safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Collaboration: Work with mining engineers, mechanical engineers, surveyors, and contractors during project development and construction.
- Software Use: Utilize design and modeling software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, STAAD.Pro, and other civil/structural engineering tools.
Skills Required:

Strong knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles.

Familiarity with mining operations and site conditions.

Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling software.
