Key Responsibilities
The HVAC Design Engineer will be responsible for designing, reviewing, and supervising heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems required for the effective operation of project facilities. The role focuses on ensuring technical reliability, operational efficiency, and cost optimization throughout the project lifecycle.
HVAC Engineering & Design

Prepare HVAC system calculations for buildings and facilities in compliance with applicable engineering standards, regulations, and codes.

Develop work assignments based on approved drawings, prepare quantity take-offs, and accurately estimate materials and work volumes.

Select appropriate materials and structural components based on project requirements and site-specific conditions.

Verify the quality, durability, and compliance of construction materials with relevant standards.

Develop and review HVAC technical specifications for project implementation.

Collaborate with architectural and other engineering teams to determine optimal technical solutions.

Provide technical guidance and professional support to installation contractors and site engineers.

Prepare high-quality HVAC and air conditioning system designs and drawings in accordance with engineering codes and standards.
Design Development & Supervision

Prepare HVAC design drawings using AutoCAD and other automated design tools.

Develop thermo-mechanical engineering designs for heating and ventilation systems.

Review design drawings and ensure compliance with construction codes and standards.

Conduct client and designer supervision based on working drawings, propose design improvements when necessary, and perform quality control.

Participate in technical and state commission inspections during project completion.

Ensure full compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and technical requirements throughout the design process.

Monitor project design, cost estimates, equipment selection, safety requirements, and compliance with technical specifications during project stages.

Maintain close coordination with government authorities, clients, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure continuous and efficient project implementation.

Plan and manage assigned tasks within HVAC design and engineering activities for buildings and industrial facilities, report delays or deviations, and coordinate solutions with project stakeholders.
Coordination, Reporting & Stakeholder Communication

Coordinate with HVAC designers, subcontractors, and both local and international engineering companies to ensure compliance with Mongolian laws, building codes, and technical standards.

Provide technical input and support during procurement processes, including equipment selection and technical evaluation.

Prepare technical conclusions and professional recommendations related to HVAC engineering matters when required.

Prepare required reports and documentation at each project phase.

Monitor project progress, conduct risk assessments, and support problem resolution.

Provide technical assistance to project stakeholders during construction and installation phases.

Ensure effective coordination between the client and design subcontractors.

Plan assigned tasks effectively and report progress to management and relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
Documentation & Administrative Responsibilities

Maintain and update technical documentation and operational passports for HVAC equipment and systems installed within the project.

Prepare official correspondence and required documentation related to assigned duties.

Issue technical requirements and instructions to clients and design subcontractors within the scope of responsibility.

Properly organize and archive project documentation and materials in accordance with company procedures.

Prepare regular work reports and submit them to supervisors.
Job Requirements
Education:
Bachelors degree or higher in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Engineering or a related field.
Professional Background:
Degree from an accredited university in HVAC Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in HVAC design and engineering.
Required Skills

Professional engineering qualification or certification is an advantage.

Proven experience in HVAC design, calculations, and engineering documentation.

Ability to independently develop complete HVAC system design solutions.

Strong understanding of HVAC systems for buildings and industrial facilities.
