About the job Deputy Country Director
Responsibilities:
- Support conservation program.
- Manage strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Oversee Finance, Operations and Human Resources
- Support fundraising efforts.
Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years relevant experience, including working at a senior level.
-Experience managing a multi-disciplinary team of professionals.
- Experience negotiating complex, high profile, or sensitive agreements.
- Experience in developing program-wide strategies and policies.
- Experience working with diverse groups of staff and partners.
- Written and verbal fluency in English.
- Superb communication and presentation skills.
Desired qualifications:
- 10 years experience in conservation practice or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Management experience including ability to motivate, lead, set objectives, and manage performance of a large multi-disciplinary team. Delegates responsibility and authority to staff and clearly defines expectations. Keeps staff informed and expresses appreciation.
- Ability to foster an environment of creativity and professional growth.
- Expert knowledge of current and evolving trends in conservation, government relations, fund raising and non-profit
- Fundraising experience, including identifying donor prospects and donor cultivation.
-Experience directing a major program or project of strategic importance, including management/supervision of multi-disciplinary teams and meeting deadlines.
- Experience working with current trends and practices in relevant discipline(s) and geographic regions.
- Experience in partnership development with non-profit partners, community groups and/or government agencies.
- Experience influencing, developing, and implementing conservation policy and plans at the state or country level.
- Multi- lingual and multi-cultural or cross-cultural experience appreciated.
- Politically savvy.
